Trillian is a program that is capable of running AIM, IRC, Yahoo, MSN, and checking your mail for you among other things.

Its everything built into one heh.....though I only use it for AIM and email :P

i hate the rainbow text things, it really sucks cuz you cant type much without it using all that space for the font tags. and it gets annoying if you're talking seriously. and it doesnt automatically do it, you have to use a seperate program.

Yeah I used to screw with progs that made perdy rainbow things and all that for AIM, but since aim includes every character (including the crap you can't see)..I could only type small conversations :(
