Just got Winamp 5 Beta and for it to be a beta I gotta say it runs pretty smooth. It loads much faster than Winamp 3 did, though I doubt its gonna beat 2 hehe...For some reason I like running visualizations on my desktop cause I don't have a start menu or any of that windows crap cuz I have my own custom shell and what not....and before visualizations used 100 percent of my systems processing power(displays on my shell) and the new one is running at 66% processing power.

BTW I don't have that great of a computer....I got a crappy Athlon XP 2200+ chip and a Geforce 2 MX200(eww!) video card...nothing great...course the video card is about to be upgraded....so it runs pretty nice for what I got...

The look of the new Winamp looks pretty good, though through the use of skins you can still make it look like perdy Winamp 2....

Well thats about it, just download it and see what you think, remember its still in beta form though....

What happened to winamp 4?

I still have a 2.X ... never liked 3

I think Winamp 5 is still a name in progress but the reason they are calling it that is because they are trying to merge both winamp 2 and 3...thus 2+3=5

Well something like that...I suck at explaining crap....

Its like they are trying to make it look partially like Winamp 2 while still having the features of winamp 3....That sounded a little better hehe...
