Just install a stats script. I use A1 Stats. It's not great but it works okay, I'm waiting until I find something better. I sure wish I could use analog, but I have no clue where the logfile is or if I even have one.

AXS Visitor Tracking System
The AXS visitor tracking system is the best free stats program out there! See referring page, ip address, operating system, browser version, hits to local documents, hits on your downloads, where visitors exit your site, and much more! The only requirment is that your web server must support Perl CGI scripts. You can see the path your visitors traveled through your site by only adding a couple of lines of Javascript code at the bottom of your page. Why use the AXS tracking system? It'll keep you from getting bored with your own web page Apathy is the webmaster's worst enemy. AXS provides the essential dynamic content that keeps you coming back. Which of my links are the most popular? What search terms do people type in to get to my page? Are people from fbi.gov scanning my site? Now you'll know, with more information arriving every minute. Because it's worthy The AXS Script Set is the most complete site tracking system available (as of this writing, to the authors' knowledge of course). You have control of eighteen graphing options and five filtering methods. But AXS doesn't overwhelm you with pure information - short browser names, abbreviated referrers, and by-file filtering can turn a one megabyte log file into exactly the page-full of information you were looking for. That sounds like a "fishy" script. Go read the analog website where it says what a stats script can and can't tell you, and the stats is these scripts that are really just MADE UP.
http://www.analog.cx/docs/webworks.html Do you think your script can somehow do the things it actually says without "guessing"? If you do, I'll get it. :) |

I use it and it tells me exactly where visitors come from and their path through my site. Still don't believe me? Then go to my stats page at http://musicbydesign.pcplayground.com/c ... x-admin.pl.
Username: "username" Password: "password" To see visitor paths through my site click the button "View In Database Format" To see graphs check appropriate boxes and click "View in Graphical Format" Elijah Lofgren :D elijahlofgren@yahoo.com |

Oh and one more thing.
The best thing about axs is that you can block your visits to your own pages using a cookie. That is extremely useful because then you only look at stats from actual visitors. :D |
