Default Swearing On The Boards & In The Journals

I realize folks that swearing is a great stress reliever. However, I've seen too much swearing and inappropriate remarks on the site. I realize this sites impact, as it's a great place to discuss everything, but I would appreciate little or even no swearing. It IS possible to express yourself without use 4-letter colorful adjitives, just grab a thusouras. I'm NOT trying to be a KILL-JOY member, I just want to be able to recommend this site to thers without blushing everytime they see the front page! I really would appreciate all your help and cooporation in this effort. I hope more people come here, and this may be why we are NOT getting any more cutomers if you will.

Respectfully,
8) :)

ok ppl,

due to my small vocabulary, i dont know very many negative words, just a lot of swears. I don't read enough... and when i'm angry i just gotta let it out. (ok i'm eggagerating and i am at a normal level in vocab for the high-level schools i go to)

btw you spelled adjectives wrong as well as thesaurus. it doesnt seem too likely that you have much larger a vocabulary bank as i do.

Why do people get all offended by cuss words anyways? I mean...honestly, if you think about it...the words themselves mean nothing. It is people who give them meaning.

For example, if you go to japan and tell them to f--- off...they would just look at you weird. Maybe some would recognize the word, but most would not. The word "f-u-c-k" means nothing in their vocabulary, thus they draw no offense to it.

Because of this, you can draw the conclusion that the meaning of any cuss word is only interpreted by the one who hears it. So if you are offended by cuss words, it is your own fault.

Of course, I speak hypothetically.

right now everything that you said is being enterpereted as... "Do you like pie?"

my answer is "Yes"

I don't really care much for cussing or anything. In this day and age its pretty much part of the English vocabulary. Don't get me wrong, I don't go around going F this and F that....that just shows how stupid you are...but it takes a lot to offend me anyway.

If you would prefer to see me not cuss(not that I really do that much anyway), then, in respect for you as a person, I shall not. :P

I sort of agree with you.

However, what in particular are you referring to? News? Jokes? Reviews? Or just the forums? What kind of "inappropriate remarks" ???

I just want another different look at this. :)
