Default Expand and populate the forums

I believe expanding the forums with appropriate rooms will be beneficial for both creating and retaining traffic for PCPlayground. Currently, do a large percentage of your users w/ hosting accounts participate in the forums? If not, then the creation of a general purpose room will promote conversation by allowing users to post various topics about various aspects of building their sites. When the forum acquires enough users, they will ask and answer their own questions, as is often the case for an Internet service. You could then develope a tech-tip room, where users could submit their own technical articles to the forum so others might benefit. Perhaps you could also create a useful links room, only for good informative links that are beneficial to the topics at hand.

This idea could be expanded on of course, eventually creating rooms for users to promote their own websites, discuss other topics available on PCPlayground such as the various news pieces, create threads asking users for the various services their talents might let them perform (ie creating graphics to promote PCPlayground on the web), & more.

With proper expansion that prioritizes adding the more useful rooms first, then the extra ones for their benefit when computer resources can be amassed, I believe forums can become one of the main assets to any site, including this one.

Hope that helps at least a little..

An FAQ and the TOS for the hosting part. You should have enough questions for the faq now.
And remove the chat module, it will only take more bandwidth from the server while it isn't used to chat with.

How about a website of the week thing? I know some free host in the past that choses good websites from thier userbase and places them somewhere in their main site. This may help community interaction, visiting the forums, etc.

Oh, and some downloadable stuff made by your members. Graphics for websites, buttons, avatars, or web sripts could be placed somewhere to help other members on thier webpages.

I also sense that you have a lot of portal users, they could upload thier themes in that section as well, if they had made thier own.

Shitty website of the week? Like the most useless, crappy, not fuctioning, disorganaized websites? LOL! I have a feeling that I'd be atleast a runnerup. hehe. In the current state of my site, that is.

A good idea would be to add an Site Advertising section. Its a good way for you to get hits plus the people who advertise. Also people can also get jobs on site by this :)
