Do you believe music can change your mood?
Metallica - Fade To Black (On the Ride the Lightning CD) just came on. For a second or two I became almost half way depressed for no apparent reason. As this is a slow/depressing song. However, I can usually get a slight urge to cause bodily harm to others (in a constructive way.. :? ) by listening to hard "going to kill you" music. In the past I have listened to this style of music before large athletic events. One reason that I believe this may be so is because the song reminds me of things. IE: If I missed my GF, playing "our song" would make me a little more deprssed, not really because of the song but because of the memories. Also, many of the pump up songs that I would listen to have some other things to it. Such as me thinking the same thing (lyric wise). Thoughts? Comments? Opinions? |

lol, i can agree with you Tommy man. the same thing happens to me sometimes. if its one of those im gonna kill you songs, its usually a crazy destructive feeling, like i wanna smash stuff (ZOID SMASH!).
but when its one of those songs about somebody's problems with their life, bad family, abuse, whatnot as long as its detailed enough to get a picture- it really brings out some empathetic feelings. (until a few seconds after the song is over usually)... anyway i'm not a good dancer, tho dancing seems like fun! |

Music changes my mood all the time. Though 90% of the music I like is "I wanna kill you" music, I usually feel like...uh...breaking stuff
Though I do listen to a few songs about sad things happening to a person, it does tend to make me feel bad or sad or think about something sad. |
