Hi, I use my subdomain to store all my HTML, and then use my NYU account to host all my pictures, and just link the pcplayground html to the NYU storage site under all the picture URLs.
When someone looks at a pic while they're on my pcplayground site, but the pic isn't hosted here that doesn't count towards my bandwith on pcplayground does it? |

i'm not 100% sure but i think that:
uploading will take up bandwidth (ok i know this one for sure) moving doesn't take up bandwidth but there's a stupid exception: it depends on how you move it. by just telling it to move from /path/to/dir/1 to /path/to/dir/2 (by ftp server command or unix command or something) it wont use bandwith. If you're downloading the files to your computer and then reuploading them elsewhere, you're definately using bandwidth. Most of the time you're not doing that, so normal move commands wont matter. Of course, downloading uses bandwidth (just as uplaoding does) Deleting files doesn't use bandwidth so in a nutshell, what uses bandwidth is anything that requires Uploading and/or Downloading. sorry im tired and i write stupid things when i am tired. i'm going to go to bed now. gnite. |

Yes, moving files uses bandwidth, probably around 0.005 bytes, as you still have to upload the command to move the files. Though, for the most part, your bandwidth will be consumed by people downloading things from your website, or just browsing your website. |
