Yes, when you had uploaded about 30 warez files I had moved your folder off to a seperate section of the server. Thus automatically, the traffic was forwarded to pcplayground.com

I had waited a week to hear from you, but have not. I had to delete your files.

warez!!
i dnt think i had any warez...my site offered users uploading capabilities but that isn't my fault. it was for the users to easily share code. Tommy, my site was really essential and it was what i was going to use to get a job....or get into school using the dynTag project and code that i was hosting there. it used the land-down under engine and i paid a sum of money to get it automatically registered to search engines.

Tommy, what warez files were found? coz i dnt recall any files being uploaded by me that would be warez....i had another admin for my site maybe he did this. tommy this is very unfair of you...did you try to let me know? i didnt get an email or private msg from you. I dnt think i have eva started a fight nor complained. i was strictly programming minded and offered solutions where i could. why?

Tommy, i dnt see any drastic reason for you to destroy my life like this....you may wonder ...'life'? yes, life...some of us are not gifted like you and have very little in our lives, i dunno how to explain in simple terms how you have ruined my life....the other day when i was seeking a job i used that site on my cv but no one could reach it, this immediately changed the job interviewers mind about me. It is for this reason that i sent you a surprising email asking about my site.

tommy, why??

i am not seeking self pitty or anything of the sort....

.................................................. ..........
Anyway, lemme calm down coz this won't change nothing. thx a lot for hosting my site for the time you did. i dnt think i eva found a better host and would like to keep on with you.

my site meant alot to me and my friends....it took me long to get that number of users, configure, and even update. you being a site admin should know how hard these are....

bye for now and please think abt it. im not here to start a fight but to let u know u did me VERY wrong....

There were full albums being uploaded, in particular, multiple D-12 CDs. I do not believe that this was done through your uploading script, as there were new folders in your root folder. If you had allowed people to make new folders, and upload into your root folder, your site could have easily been destroyed.

You must understand, I have a strict warez policy. The reason I noticed the warez during this particular incident was not during a warez search. Instead, I stopped receiving my email (not enough space). So I see that your folder is eating up an extremely excessive amount of space due to the warez content.

Thus I deleted the warez, and moved your folder to a restricted portion of the server to prevent you from uploading.

This same day I discovered that I am going to be paying a large hosting bill, as I have received an increase in traffic. Thus, I am paying for every extra GB uploaded and downloaded. I alrighty will have to pay an extra bucks for the warez you had uploaded. I was not pleased.

I took your site offline for about a week. I never got around to contacting you, however I was expecting you to contact me.

And in response to the last bit of your post...

You can not entirely blame me for this. I was re-acting to the way I would be charged so you (or your admin) could use my server in illegal ways (thus jeapordizing everyone else).

The only reason the person stopped uploading warez is because they used all the free space on the server, so it wasn't some small time one or two files.

If you had allowed other people FTP upload access, you have to take responsibility for their actions.

I still have your database, which is what stores all the contents of your website. If you wish, I can set you backup with your FTP & Subdomain. You could upload your phpnuke files, and your site will be back. However, you must remove public upload abilities, and not give anyone else your FTP info.

As a web host myself, I'm taking tommy's side on this one.

Some of you guys don't realize how hard it is to offer you web hosting.

I am no longer with the same provider as tommy any more, but I know the guy, and he is a prick. If he found warez on a site hosted by tommy, he'd have no hesitation to suspend all accounts.

As for your logic, Sir_LoJik, it is completely wrong. If indeed it was not you whom uploaded the various files in question, it is still your fault for letting them appear. It was you who gave power to others for the ability to upload to your hosting.

Picture it this way:

If you rent out an apartment, and give 100 people keys to the apartment, and 4 of them are drug dealers who decide to use your rented apartment to store their "merchandise"...when the cops bust down the door, they don't give a shit...they will arrest you for supplying a house for the product.

The same principle is online. If you provide housing for illegal files, you are subject to the penalties.

Tommy did you no wrong, if anything he helped you.

That's right...helped you.

See... I host several sites, and I warn them 1 time not to upload warez or illegal files. If I catch any of them doing that, I take that as a flat out "fuck you", and I would not hesitate to report them to the company of the files that they were trying to share.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for file sharing, but I'm not going to put my balls on the line for the people I host...and apparently neither will tommy.

Welcome to Life.

Btw... if you were really that concerned about using your site as a shining beacon on your application for jobs, you would have bought hosting and your own domain just to give it the extra edge. So obviously, you didn't rely on your site that much.

If I was a job employer, I wouldn't be that impressed if I saw a site attatched as a subdomain.

I'm going to have to agree with Tommy and Headnerd here also. It is your responsibility to prevent warez from popping up on your site, especially if you allow people to upload to your site.

Although Tommy should have notified you within that week, he's right about what he did...

Also, if your site is so important to you and your future and you worked as hard as you claim on it, don't you think as the site's admin that you would notice that it's missing long before your future employer did. Say, within that first week...? Plus, you probably shoul have checked to make sure your site was working before you gave the url on your job application. It's just common sense to check your sources. You made yourself look sbad, Tommy didn't do that...

And, talking from experiance, if your website will in any way reflect possible future jobs, you should back it up, and visit it atleast 2 times a week if not more. I agree with Tommy and Headnerd.
I used to run a server from my house a long time back, did the whole web hosting bit, i visited it daily, browsed the logs once a week, and i had a program that crawled the system and alearted me to any files that we not allowed or two big. One of the people buying hosting from me, overnight uploaded 6 gigs of mp3s, a few movies, and god knows how many illegal programs, last i saw of him, hes serving 5 years in laredo california.....
You should feel lucky that all tommy did was remove your site.
