now that we all know what the problem is(if you dont, the check out headnerd's '' post), we have 2 options.
1. start fixing it 2. sit back and hope tommy is able to get our sub-domains back. i suggest number 1. to start, notice that ftP:// access remains the same. so accessing your site to edit it should not be an issue. depending on how you coded your site, you may or may not have to recode all of your images. (ex. if you put them as http://subdomain.pcplayground.com/images/image1.jpg etc, then you will need to update all of your html pages, however if you coded them as /images/image1.jpg etc, then your images should be intact. the same holds true for links within your site. you should also update any domain forwarding services you use, such as dot tk. bulletin boards, such as phpBB2, need to have their directory information changed(remember, you had to enter the location of it[subdomain.pcplayground.com/phpbb2/] when you set it up. you will also need to change the locations for avatars, etc. pretty much you need to update anything that says subdomain.pcplayground.com to say pcplayground.com/subdomain. i would also suggest sending out a notice to your mailing list, etc notifying them to update their bookmarks. if it is needed, i will write a more in depth instruction on fixing your site tomorrow,(i would now, but i would rather sleep). -robert |
