I have a HP omnibook 900,p3,win98,100 meg ram,IBM travelstar 6 gb hard drive.when I got it it as a password on it.I never was it side before.I got it from a flea market for 40 and I can not afford to buy another hd.Can you help me please.

well, i dont think the actual hard drive has a password.

when does it ask you for the password? - does it not load windows unless you put in the password, or do you have to type in the password to turn it on (instead of using power button)?

If it asks for a password on the login screen of windows....which version of windows are you running? =P

If it doesn't load windows and asks for a password before then, chances are its a password in the BIOS.
