Desktop.

You can get a bigger and better desktop for the same price as a small laptop.

You can also easily upgrade your desktop.

And if you build your own desktop computer you can get a top of the line, super nice one for the price of a crappy laptop

You dont need to build a new PC to get that kind of comparison.

If you want to spend $1,000 you will easily get a better desktop than a laptop.

Is it worth getting a laptop though? Its not that hard to carry a desktop around (via car) if you are just moving from desk to desk.

not a very good comparison to begin with. its like comparing an apple to an orange. notebooks are obviously better if mobility and portability is what your looking for. but it obviously cant keep up in either price or performance to a genuine desktop.

which would be a desktop. not about how hard it is to move or the cost. just thought id point that out. also, tikita-there is a post on nerdhelp.com that somwhat applies to this. im too lazy to go look it up. but if you head over there it shouldnt be too hard to find.

A desktop would defiantly be better for a gaming machine.

Your mouse is a lot better than a touch pad.

Your keyboard is bigger.

Your speakers are usually better.

You can easily get a better version (upgrade) of any of the above mentioned items.

Plus, as I already said. You get more for your money when it comes to desktops. So you would have a bigger & faster desktop.

i think what most of us said implied the fact that a desktop would be better for gaming. and the mentioning the portability of notebooks is just laying out the facts of both..

A desktop performs better, cost lower and has a bigger monitor generally. A laptop is smaller and it has batteries.

A guy that moves from one place to another and stays away from home a lot of times will be dissapointed to get a desktop for his home he hardly see.

A guy that stays at home most of his time will be a sucker for getting a crappy laptop that always stays at his work desk collecting what would be desktop dust.
