Hello to everyone! It's been a long time since my last post here. Anyway, I just wanted to know the opinions of some PC Playground members who are also taking up any computer-related course like I.T. So my question is, which of the electives below do you think is the best way to go? :?
1. Web Technology (Java, .NET, etc.) 2. Open-Source Platform Environment (UNIX, HP-UX, etc.) 3. Relational Database Management System (Oracle, SQL, etc.) 4. Multimedia (Flash, Video-editing, Web design, etc.) Multimedia - I can say that I'm already good at this field so I think I could just improve my skills on it by myself. Many people like me had only self-learned this stuff so I think it would be better if I choose an elective that's difficult to learn and master by oneself. Open-Source Platform Environment - Well I think HP-UX is not really open-source as it's a commercial OS. Anyway, it doesn't matter because I'm also not thinking of choosing this as my elective. Why? Well most of my classmates chose this bec. they say it's easier than RDBMS. I'm not choosing it bec. I can also self-learn it like the Multimedia. Web Technology - This is also a good choice bec. I really like programming a lot. I really want to learn Java, C#, and the .NETs. Yeah, PHP is popular but I doubt companies really use the language so I'm interested in learning the advanced ones I mentioned. Relational Database Management System - Most people say that this is the most in demand right now so this might be the elective I'll choose anyway. The truth is, I'm still considering either Web Tech. or RDBMS up to now. So if there's anything anyone would like to tell that will help me choose the best elective for me then please do reply. Thanks again and well, happy new year too! :D |

Well, welcome back. :) :D Well, it all depends on what you plan on doing. I personally would take the Multimedia class so I would be able to do webdesigns and make all spiffy looking webpages. But you say your already pretty good with multimedia. If your thinking long term future (your career) I would choose "Relational Database Management System" as I also hear those skills are in demand. |

yeah, if i were to take the class "just for fun" and not necessarily for a future career, I'd pick Multimedia class.
and in regards to being a returning user, littlewolf must have been from a previous incarnation of pcplayground. |
