Default PHP Help

Ok, I am a designer not a programmer. My site (http://www.kenterlogic.com) has good content but absolutely NO interactivity. It's hosted right here at PCplayground (thanks Tommy) and I was wondering if anyone would like to help me out implementing some PHP components (being able to comment on stuff, forums etc).

Rock on. Contact me at kenterlogic@msn.com

Default its built

i built it, but i have no damn clue what to do with php-nuke or anything like that. If someone could just show me what to do im sure I could figure it out myself. This isnt really about efficiency so much as learning.

Yeah, you may want to try a portal system, but that totally takes over your site, so you wont have the flexibility you probably want. You might want to try some scripting database places though.

Did you get my email about the typo on your site? Sent it a while ago...

"Thus, here is the link to download pop-up stopper.? " There shouldnt be a "?"

Its on the right hand menu under "Web Site Notes"

Default Well

Ok, forget portal systems. I really don't want my site to be taken over. But I do want some PHP functionality. Some polls, being able to comment on stories, you know. I dont care about messaging, member pages and whatnot. Just some basic interactivity. If theres a coder out there who wants to help (and get credit) contact me via email kenterlogic@msn.com or AIM kenterlogic. Rock on.

You could use individual scripts like Coranto and PhpBB. Then using a coranto addon. (http://coranto.gweilo.org) You can get a comments addon. Where people will be able to comment on your news using the phpbb interface. (you can change it etc) Its really customizable. Also try to get polls scripts off sites. Like i use XPoll which i found off a website. (i think its called XPoll...) Any other things u might want?

You could always go to http://www.hotscripts.com/ for some scripts to use on an existing webpage. They have tons of php scripts for free. I dont know much about php scripting but the free ones they have are usually GPL so you can modify them if you want. Maybe learn a trick or two in the proccess as well.
