Default Do not plagerize.

If you post news, post a source. I have seen many articles posted lately that just say XXX says "____________" and a big article that has been copied and pasted off some other site (most likely cnet or rueters). So please, post a "Source: ____" at the bottom of your news submissions if it is not your own work, or risk your article not being posted.

Biggest offender: Pendragon

Im glad somebody agrees. Lol. I myself would be very angry if someone took my written work and left out my name and what not. I told tommy not to allow anymore posts like that for news, and he agreed. So I don't think we will see many more.

Sorry to break it to ya fellas but plagerizim exists EVERYWHERE.
It exists in forums, sometimes its accidental, other times, people are just lazy.
I'm not saying that I agree with anyone posting a review for lets say a CD burner that CNET reviewed and not even bother to say "This review was taken from CNET".

But the fact is that everyone plagerizes. I bet you guys that you probably once got stuck on an assignment or a homework and just copied from your friend, it happens, nobody is perfect. I've done it too.

I guess the point that i'm trying to make is that there's no way to stop or enforce this...especially if it's on the web...Let's not start with the amount of webmasters that simply hotlink other people's stuff...

Sorry, I don't. I always give credit where credit is due. And it is not some huge change that needs to be made. I simply informed tommy to check each news post for a "Source:____" at the bottom and an (optional) author name.

It's that type of hopless attitude that makes things in this world so hard to accomplish. In this case, it is not that hard to enforce, but even if it was, it is possible.

Thats the best way to do it. Just ad a notion somewhere stating where you got it from. If not for the mere moral reasons of giving a person credit for his/her work, then for the simple fact that a "Source:____" waives you of all legal ties if the information is wrong, illegal, immoral, injust, or offensive to a group of people.

Obviously, you did not bother to read before you replied. I said:

Which means that yes, I do copy people. I have copied people. And I will continue to copy people...but I always make sure to leave a source, or some sort of bibliography giving credit to the owner of the borrowed data.

That is the difference, and that is the point of thist thread. So please. Read before you reply...don't waste any valuable bytes with your illogical posts.
